Open water scuba diving refers to diving in unrestricted water, such as a sea, lake, river, or flooded quarry, as opposed to confined water (usually a swimming pool) where initial skills training takes place. In open water diving, the diver has direct vertical access to the surface of the water in contact with the Earth’s atmosphere.
Open water is the first certification level. During the course you will be guided, mentored and taught all the skills required to be able to a certified open water diver. The course itself is broken down into different modules. There is a theoretical or classroom based modual. There is several sheltered water or pool sessions and a minimum of 4 open water dives.
Advanced Open Water (AOW) diving is certification level that builds upon the foundational skills learned in the Open Water Diver course. It’s designed to enhance your diving skills, increase your depth range, and broaden your understanding of the underwater world
The PADI Rescue Diver course helps divers to look beyond themselves and to start thinking about the welfare and care of others. The course will teach divers with more experience about techniques in preventing problems and awareness of potential dangers before, during and after a dive. This is a rigorous and rewarding course which is practically based.
Technical diving is scuba diving that exceeds the agency-specified limits of recreational diving for non-professional purposes. Technical diving may expose the diver to hazards beyond those normally associated with recreational diving, and to a greater risk. Risk may be reduced via appropriate skills, knowledge, equipment and experience.
The Intro to Tech Course is an introductory course that expands on recreational training by improving dive planning methods, in-water skills, and streamlining existing gear configurations in a controlled and fun learning environment.
Are you finding your no- decompression limits (NDLs) a limiting factor to dives? Do you have to ascend sooner than you would like? As sport divers, planned decompression is not something that we do or have been taught. Decompression Procedures Course prepares you for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45 metres/150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits.
Certain areas of the world provide spectacular dives at depths deeper than 39 metres/130 feet but you may not have access (or very limited access) to helium. Extended Range course teaches you the proper techniques for utilizing compressed air as a breathing gas, and with a maximum depth of 55 metres/180 feet, so you don’t have to miss those dives!
